Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I would like to share with you one of the great sunnah’s of the Prophet Muhammad(SAW). It is to wear a turban. This may be simple, but every sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad(SAW) is extremely important for many reasons but the big reason is due to the prediction our Prophet(SAW) has made that has surely come to true. Since I, myself, have witnessed this.

The prediction was:

” No devout Muslim would ever dare to go against the teachings of the Qur’ân and Sunnah, but it is regrettable to note that some of the liberal elite tend to raise the slogan that the Book of God (i.e. the Qur’ân) is enough and that there is no need at all for the Sunnah of the Prophet, may the peace and blessings of God be upon him. Slogans like this are raised mainly by people who want to get rid of the Islamic Law (Arabic: Sharee’ah) completely. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, himself was well-aware that such ill-natured opinions would arise and hence gave a clear warning of this as reported by Al-Miqdam ibn Ma’di Karib, one of his Companions: “I have indeed been given the Qur’ân and something similar to it besides it. Yet, the time will come when a man leaning on his couch will say, ‘Follow the Qur’ân only; what you find in it as halaal, take it as halaal, and what you find in it as haraam, take it as haraam.’ But truly, what the Messenger of God has forbidden is like what God has forbidden.” (Reported by Abu Dawud and Darimi.)

Now back to the Sunnah of the Turban. Here are some hadiths which relate the benefits and importance of this Sunnah.

It is reported in one hadith that Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Wear the turban as it is a sign of Islam and it distinguishes between a Muslim and a Kâfir.” (Ainee)

“Adopt the turban as it will increase your forbearance.” (Mustadrak of Hâkim)

“Some of Allah Ta’âla’s angels stand at the door of the Masjid and seek repentance on behalf of those wearing white turbans.” (Al Maqaasidul Hasanah pg.466)

“The turban distinguishes the Muslims from the Mushriks (polytheists).” (Ibid)

“Allah Ta’âla causes his mercy to descend on the people wearing turbans on the day of Jumu’ah and his Angels make du’â for such people.” (Dailami)

Insha’Allah we all can take upon ourselves and try do one more sunnah then usual because that action could be the very action to lead us into the Path of Allah(SWT). Insha’Allah we all ask Allah(SWT) for forgiveness, guidance, protection, and Junnah-al-Firdaus.

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I would like to share with you one of the great character traits that the Prophet(SAW) had: Gentleness.

Right now we live in a time where the concept of Islamaphobia and the wrong idea of Islam is spreading like wildfire. It is up to us as Muslims to really start implementing the characteristics and moral principles instructed to us by Allah(SWT) and the Prophet(SAW). Our actions will speak louder than words, and what better actions are the ones none other than the Prophet(SAW).

The gentleness of the Prophet(SAW) just radiated from him. He was always cheerful and gentle and never wanted to cause harm.

The Prophet(SAW) smiled so often and even described it as a charity, and psychologists now a days even tell us that a smile has so many powerful an positive psychological effects. (Look it up yourself. It is truly amazing)

Here are some hadiths talking about the gentleness of the Prophet(SAW):

Abdullaah Ibn Haarith said, ‘I never came across a person who smiled as much as the Prophet(SAW). The Prophet(SAW)  regarded smiling with a brother as an act of charity. (Tirmidhi)

Aisha stated that, ‘The Prophet(SAW) never used foul language and never entertained people with obscene jokes. He was well behaved when he entered the market places. His habit was not to repel evil with mutual evil. He was forgiving and could grant pardon.'(Tirmidhi)

Husain  the grandson of the Prophet(SAW) asked his father, Ali , about the Prophet’s conduct. Ali replied, ‘He was always cheerful, gentle and mild. There was no rigidity or coarseness in his conduct. He was neither a faultfinder nor a boisterous person and he steered away from any kind of futile engagement.’ (Tabarani)

Prophet Muhammad(SAW) smiled so spontaneously that each one of the Companions, as they gathered around him during their visits to his house, thought to be the favorite Companion. Jareer Ibn Abdullah said, ‘I have not seen the Prophet, since I embraced Islam, without a smile on his face. I saw him smiling when he could not see me and he was smiling in my presence.’ (Bukahri)

Insha’Allah we all can incorporate this small thing in our lives and really show the world what Islam truly is. Insha’Allah we ask Allah(SWT) for peace, forgiveness, guidance, protection, and Junnah-al-Firdaus.

Benefits of Ayatul Kursi

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I want to write about the benefits of reciting and knowing Ayatul Kursi.

First of all just reciting and reading quran has so much benefit in it.

The Prophet(sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah will receive a hasanah(good deed) from it, and the hasanah is multiplied by ten. I do not say that Alif-Laam-Meem is a letter , rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.” (At-Tirmidhi).

So with this being mentioned everyone should try to incorporate Quran in their lives and learn from it. Just try it at least once and slowly build upon it. The religion of Islam is powerful so don’t overdo it and burn yourself out, rather take a gradual process to do this.

So here are some hadiths on the benefits of Ayatul Kursi:

Rasool Allah peace be upon him said, “Whoever recites Aayatul Kursi after every Fard (Fard Salat). Only death is keeping him/her from entering Jannah. (As soon as he/she dies, will enter Jannah)
(Nisa’i, Ibne Habban, Ibnelsani A’n Abi Amatah Albahili Radiallah Anhu)

Abu Huraira (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said,
“Everything has a hump and the hump of the Quran is surah al-Baqarah. There is a verse in it that is the
chief of all verses of the Qur’an, the ayat ul-Kursi.”
(Tirmidhi 2887)

Abu Hurairah reports:
“Whenever you go to bed, recite “Ayat-al-Kursi”– ‘Allaahu laa ilaaha illaa huwal-Hayyul Qayyuum’ till you finish the whole verse. (If you do so), Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you and no satan will come near you till morning. “
(Bukhari Book #38, Hadith #505)

Wathala (ALLAH be well pleased with him) reported that one day a man came to the Prophet (ALLAH bless him and give him peace) and asked, “What is the most excellent verse of the Quran?” The Prophet (ALLAH bless him and give him peace) replied, “Ayat al-Kursi.”
[Sunan Abi Dawud: Fada’il al-Qur’an. Imam Abu Dawud]

Anas (ALLAH be well pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (ALLAH bless him and give him peace) said that Ayat al-Kursi is equal to a quarter of the Quran.[Tafsir al-Mazhari: Under Ayat al-Kursi. Qadi Thana’ullah Pani-pathi]

As you can see that there are many benefits to reciting and knowing this Ayat. So to protect ourselves and to prepare ourselves let us try to learn more about Islam and pick up the Quran more often. Below is a link for you to purchase your own Quran and please check out our shopping page.

Benefits of Surah Ikhlas

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I want to write about the benefits of reciting and knowing surah Ikhlas.

So here are some hadiths on the benefits of Surah Ikhlas:

Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to his Companions: ‘Could any one of you not recite one third of the Qur’aan in one night?’ They found the idea too difficult, and said, ‘Who among us could do that, O Messenger of Allaah?’ He said, ‘Allaahu’l-ahad, al- samad [i.e., Soorat al-Ikhlaas] is one third of the Qur’aan.’” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 4628)

‘Aa’ishah also reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) sent a man in charge of a small military campaign, and when he recited Qur’aan whilst leading his companions in prayer, he would always end with Qul huwa Allaahu ahad. When they came back, (his companions) mentioned that to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who told them to ask him why he did that. So they asked him, and he said, “Because it is a description of the Most Merciful, and I love to recite it.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Tell him that Allaah loves him.” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 6827)

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) heard a man reciting Qul huwa Allaahu ahad, and said, “It is his right.’ They asked, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, what is his right?’ He said, ‘Paradise is his right.’ (Reported by Imaam Ahmad, 7669)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever recites Qul huwa Allaahu ahad ten times, Allaah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Saheeh al-Jaami’ al-Sagheer, 6472).

As you can see that there are many benefits to reciting and knowing this surah. So to protect ourselves and to prepare ourselves let us try to learn more about Islam and pick up the Quran more often. Below is a link for you to purchase your own Quran and please check out our shopping page.

The Holy Qur’an: English Translation, Commentary and Notes with Full Arabic Text (English and Arabic Edition)

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I would like to start out by saying that I do not want to start any fights or turmoil with one another, but I would like everyone to look deep down inside and question their beliefs to find the truth that everyone is looking for.

That truth is Islam.

The Christian concept of Original Sin has no justice of God and thus cannot be a correct concept. The idea that Adam made a mistake, a “sin”, in which all of his children will inherit this sin, and thus be born sinful is simply terrible due to the fact that someone else’s action is what makes me wrong. God is All-Mighty and All-knowing. In Islam one of the 99 names of Allah(SWT) is Al-Muqsit, meaning The Just. Hypothetically, if one of your friends stole something, a sin, and he/she has a child, is it truly justice that due to the mother/father’s sin the child is going to be sinful. No, not at all. Every person is accountable for his own actions because simply put he or she does these actions. It is simple logic.  Every single person knows inside of themselves that they are different from their parents and different from their parents parents. So it makes no sense to bear a burden that was not our own faults.

If you can understand this, then you can also see the beauty in Islam and its guiding principles.

In the Quran it states, “That no burdened person(with sins) shall bear the burden(sins) of another. And that man can have nothing but what he does(good or bad), And that his deeds will be seen. (Surah Najm- 53:38-40).

It also states, “Whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul. And whoever errs only errs against it. And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And never would We punish until We sent a messenger.” (Surah Isra- 17:15).

The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, “Each child is born in a state of “Fitrah”, then his parents make him a Jew, Christian or a Zoroastrian, the way an animal gives birth to a normal offspring. Have you noticed any that were born mutilated?” (Collected by Bukhari and Muslim).

Always remember that Allah(SWT) is the All Merciful and loves it when man turns back to him for repentance. Please see some of my other posts on how Allah(SWT) is so merciful that it is unfathomable how merciful He is.

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I would like to say that if you have done terrible things in your life that you should be patient and turn to Allah(SWT) because it is unfathomable how merciful Allah(SWT) is.  Below are two hadiths that explain the mercy of Allah(SWT).

Abu Huraira (radi allahu anhu) reported: I heard Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) as saying: Allah created mercy in one hundred parts and He retained with Him ninety-nine parts, and He has sent down upon the earth one part, and it is because of this one part that there is mutual love among the creation so much so that the animal lifts up its hoof from its young, one, fearing that it might harm it.  (Muslim)

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri (radi allahu anhu): The Prophet(sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, “Amongst the men of Bani Israel there was a man who had murdered ninety-nine persons. Then he set out asking (whether his repentance could be accepted or not). He came upon a monk and asked him if his repentance could be accepted. The monk replied in the negative and so the man killed him. He kept on asking till a man advised to go to such and such village.(So he left for it) but death overtook him on the way. While dying, he turned his chest towards that village (where he had hoped his repentance would be accepted), and so the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment quarreled amongst themselves regarding him. Allah ordered the village (towards which he was going) to come closer to him, and ordered the village (whence he had come), to go far away, and then He ordered the angels to measure the distances between his body and the two villages. So he was found to be one span closer to the village (he was going to). So he was forgiven.” (Bukari)

Now imagine how merciful and forgiving Allah(SWT) is. A man killed 100 people and he pushed away and brought closer certain towns to fill the requirements for this man to be forgiving. Allah(SWT) wants to forgive mankind. He wants to send mankind to paradise. That’s why he divided his mercy into 100 parts, in which he held 99 for himself to be merciful for mankind. This why as we must always turn back to Allah(SWT) for repentance, forgiveness, guidance, and strength.

Quran: “Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.”” (Surah Az-Zumar, 39:53).

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I want to write about the benefits of reciting and knowing surah Mulk.

So here are some hadiths on the benefits of Surah Mulk:

Abu Hurayra (Radhiallaahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah(Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, ‘Verily there is a Surah in the Qur’aan which has 30 Aayats. It had interceded for a person till he was forgiven. That Surah is ‘Tabaaraka llaahiy biyadihil mulk’.’ (Sunan Tirmidhi Hadith 2891)

The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said ‘Surah al Mulk is the protector from the torment of the grave’
[Sahihul Jamiea 1/680, Hakim 2/498 & Nasai]

Anas (radiAllahu anhu) reported Rasulullah (sallallahu alaiyhi wasalam) as saying, “There is a Surah which will plead for its reciter till it causes him to enter paradise (Tabarakallahi Biyadihil Mulk).”
[at-Tabrani]

Ibn Abbas (radiAllahu anhu) said that one of the Prophet (salAllahu alayhiwasalam)’s companions set up his tent over a grave without realising that it was a grave and it contained a man who was reciting the Surah Tabarakallahi Biyadihil Mulk up to the end. He went and told the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) who said, ‘It is The Defender; it is The Protector which safeguards from Allah Ta’ala’s punishment’
[at-Tirmidhi]

As you can see that there are many benefits to reciting and knowing this surah. So to protect ourselves and to prepare ourselves let us try to learn more about Islam and pick up the Quran more often. Below is a link for you to purchase your own Quran and please check out our shopping page.

The Holy Qur’an: English Translation, Commentary and Notes with Full Arabic Text (English and Arabic Edition)

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I would like to tell everyone that every single person has his past. Every single person has done something stupid in their lives. All one must do is strengthen their faith and hope in Allah (SWT) because Allah(SWT) is Ar-Rahim, the all merciful, Ar-Gaffar, the forgiver, and Al-Wadud, the loving one.

I would like to share with you two hadiths about how forgiving and merciful Allah(SWT) is:

Narrated by Abu Huraira(radiyallahu anhu) : The Prophet(sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, “While a dog was going round a well and was about to die of thirst, an Israeli prostitute saw it and took off her shoe and watered it. So Allah forgave her because of that good deed.” (Volume 4, Book 56, Number 673, Bukhari)

Narrated by Abu Sa’id(radiyallahu anhu): The Prophet(sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, “Amongst the people preceding your age, there was a man whom Allah had given a lot of money. While he was in his death-bed, he called his sons and said, ‘What type of father have I been to you? They replied, ‘You have been a good father.’ He said, ‘I have never done a single good deed; so when I die, burn me, crush my body, and scatter the resulting ashes on a windy day.’ His sons did accordingly, but Allah gathered his particles and asked (him), ‘What made you do so?’ He replied, “Fear of you.’ So Allah bestowed His Mercy upon him. (forgave him).” (Volume 4, Book 56, Number 684, Bukhari)

Now can you even imagine the forgiving nature of Allah(SWT). It is incomparable. Allah(SWT) forgave a prostitute for just giving a dying dog water. Also Allah(SWT) bestowed His mercy upon a man who claims to have not done any good deeds. Who on this earth can be that forgiving. No one at all.

So I would like to leave off by saying no matter what your past is, you should push forward, go to Allah(SWT), and repent to him with sincerity because Allah(SWT) is At-Tawwab, the granter and accepter of repentance.
