Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I would like to explain to people, especially older generation of people who grew up in a society or culture in which having a son is the best thing in the world and having a daughter is not so great, that we should really love and cherish your daughters because this is one of the biggest Mercy’s of Allah(SWT) for you.

I personally know adults who complain about having a daughter and wishing they had a son. I also personally know girls who’s parents have told them once in their lives that they wished for a son more than a daughter. Honestly, that is mean and disgusting. Allah(SWT) put both man and woman as equal beings who need to care for one another. As a Muslim parent one should not fall back into the cultural and patriarchal ideology that a son will bring you money and provide and etc. We have to realize that the Prophet(SAW) told us to be happy and rejoice for your daughters as it is a mercy of Allah(SWT) for us.

Here are some hadiths about blessings and mercies of having a daughter:

Narrated ‘Aisha(the wife of the Prophet) A lady along with her two daughters came to me asking me (for some alms), but she found nothing with me except one date which I gave to her and she divided it between her two daughters, and then she got up and went away. Then the Prophet came in and I informed him about this story. He said, “Whoever is in charge of (put to test by) these daughters and treats them generously, then they will act as a shield for him from the (Hell) Fire.” (Sahih Bukahri)

Hazrat Anas (radiyallahu anhu) reports Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said, “The person who successfully brings up two daughters until they reach maturity, then on the day of Qiyamah (Judgement) Myself and that person will be like this (Rasulullah) indicated closeness by bringing together his index and middle fingers) (Sahih Muslim)

[ There are narrations where Prophet(SAW) even said one daughter].

Even with the Prophet(SAW) own daughter the love and compassion for them was immense. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam)  used to say, “Fathima is a portion of my flesh, whosoever hurts her, certainly hurts me”(Sahih Bukhari)

Basically I want to say is that love, cherish, and understand your daughters because it helps you become more humble, patient, a better person, and it is a ticket to Junnah.

Insha’Allah I ask Allah(SWT) to forgive us, guide us, protect us, and enter us all in Junnah-al-Firdaus.

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I would like to share with you two verses of the Quran which elude to the currently proven fact of sub–atomic particles.

In the Quran it states:

“But those who disbelieve say, “The Hour will not come to us.” Say, “Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you. [ Allah is] the Knower of the unseen.” Not absent from Him is an atom’s weight within the heavens or within the earth or [what is] smaller than that or greater, except that it is in a clear register -“( Surah Saba 34:3)

“And, [O Muhammad], you are not [engaged] in any matter or recite any of the Qur’an and you [people] do not do any deed except that We are witness over you when you are involved in it. And not absent from your Lord is any [part] of an atom’s weight within the earth or within the heaven or [anything] smaller than that or greater but that it is in a clear register.“(Surah Yunus 10:61)

The atom was discovered by Democritus long before even the Prophet Jesus(AS) roughly 400 B.C.E, but only up until 1897 Thompson found the electron, 1918 Rutherford discovered the proton, and in 1932 Chadwick discovered the neutron.  Now lets go even further smaller to sub-atomic particles. Sub-atomic particles such as quarks. Quarks were discovered in 1961 in which they are elementary particles that come together to form hadrons such as protons and neutrons.

Now 1400 years ago when the Quran was revealed these verses are referencing to particles that are smaller than atom and these particles whether it be protons and neutrons or smaller such as quarks which were only figured out by human beings in the 1900 shows how the Quran in itself as a miracle.

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

Due to our indoctrinated lifestyle of constant work and sleep with barely or no cathartic release it is extremely difficult to truly search and understand our spiritual side.  As a fellow human being I am as well guilty of not trying hard enough, as I would like to, to really find the truth in myself and the Divine.  However, Allah(SWT) ordains us to remember him. The beauty of this is that the mercy and love of Allah(SWT) is unfathomable to the so-called “comprehensive” and “extensive” mind of ordinary human beings.

In the Quran Allah(SWT) states, “O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance. And exalt Him morning and afternoon. It is He who confers blessing upon you, and His angels [ask Him to do so] that He may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And ever is He, to the believers, Merciful. Their greeting the Day they meet Him will be, “Peace.” And He has prepared for them a noble reward.” ( Surah Al-Azhab, 33: 41-44).

Even the Prophet(SAW) has explained to us how much love and mercy Allah(SWT) has for us if we just think about him.

The hadith states: ““Allah says: ‘I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.”[Sahih Bukhari]

Insha’Allah we will try everyday to keep Allah(SWT) in our hearts and thoughts so that we will be in the thoughts of Allah(SWT) to a degree unimaginable because we truly need guidance, protection, and forgiveness. Insha’Allah we will all reach Junnah-al-Firdaus.

Benefits of Surah Waqiah

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I want to write about the benefits of reciting and knowing Surah Waqiah.

First of all just reciting and reading Quran has so much benefit in it.

The Prophet(sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah will receive a hasanah(good deed) from it, and the hasanah is multiplied by ten. I do not say that Alif-Laam-Meem is a letter , rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.” (At-Tirmidhi).

So with this being mentioned everyone should try to incorporate Quran in their lives and learn from it. Just try it at least once and slowly build upon it. The religion of Islam is powerful so don’t overdo it and burn yourself out, rather take a gradual process to do this.

So here is a hadith on the benefits of Surah Waqiah:

The Prophet(SAW) said, ‘Whoever recites surah al Waqiah at night would never encounter poverty’ [Ibn Sunni 620]

The Prophet(SAW) said, ‘Surah al Waqiah is the Surah of Wealth, so recite it and teach it to your children’[Ibn Asakir]

It is narrated from Ibn Katheer: Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, May Allah be pleased with him was suffering from great illness and that was his final moments, mean while Amirul Mu’min Uthman Ghani Radhi Allahu anhu was there to give him a visit. There conversation went like:

Uthman radhi Allahu anhu: what is your illness?

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, May Allah be pleased with him: My sins are all the root cause of my pain {illness}.

Uthman radhi Allahu anhu: what is your desire {final desire}?

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, May Allah be pleased with him: I seek the mercy and blessings of my Lord, Allah azza wa jal.

Uthman radhi Allahu anhu: may I call a doctor for you?

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, May Allah be pleased with him: the doctors have made me ill.

Uthman radhi Allahu anhu: may I send some gift from the Baitul Maal, the government stock?

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, May Allah be pleased with him: thank you, no need.
Uthman radhi Allahu anhu: but please let me do that for you. These might help your daughters after you {your death}.

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, May Allah be pleased with him: Do you think that after my death my daughters going to face poverty and hunger? I don’t think so, because I’ve strictly instructed my daughters to recite Sura Waqiah every night. I’ve heard, Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam saying: one who will recite sura Waqiah every night, will never be needy/poor.

As you can see that there are many benefits to reciting and knowing this Surah. So to protect ourselves and to prepare ourselves let us try to learn more about Islam and pick up the Quran more often. Below is a link for you to purchase your own Quran and please check out our shopping page.

The Holy Qur’an: English Translation, Commentary and Notes with Full Arabic Text (English and Arabic Edition)

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I would like to share with you some narrations and even an ayat from the Quran to talk to you about the blessings, importance, and benefits of tahajjud prayer( the night prayer). Even though this is not a mandatory prayer, this is the prayer, after the fard(mandatory), as regarded with the highest standard. I know it is hard to wake up for tahajjud and I am guilty of myself for not trying to wake up for tahajjud as much as I should. This prayer is so special and so magnificent that once you read the Quran ayat and all the hadiths that Insha’Allah we will all try to incorporate this prayer in our lives.

Here is the Quran ayat about praying in the night:

“Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Qur’an of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed. And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.” (Surah Isra, 17:78-79).

Here are some hadiths about tahajjud:

Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah (saws) said: “Our Lord Descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: `Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?”[ Bukhari and Muslim.]

Abdullah ibn `Amr reports that the Prophet (saws) said: “The most beloved fast to Allah is the fast of (Prophet) Dawood (a.s.). And the most beloved prayer to Allah is the prayer of (Prophet) Dawood (a.s.). He (Prophet Dawood (a.s.)) would sleep half of the night and then pray during the next third of the night and then sleep during the last sixth of the night. And he would fast one day and not fast the next.”[ Bukhari and Muslim.]

Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him, his family, and companions) said, “The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer.”[Muslim]

Abd Allah ibn Salam (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him, his family, and companions) said, “O people! Spread the salams, feed others, maintain family ties, and pray at night when others sleep and you will enter Heaven safely.”[Tirmidhi, Hakim]

Narrated Al-Mughira: The Prophet(SAW) used to stand (in the prayer) or pray till both his feet or legs swelled. He was asked why (he offered such an unbearable prayer) and he said, “should I not be a thankful slave.” [Bukahri]

Narrated Salim’s father: In the life-time of the Prophet(SAW) whosoever saw a dream would narrate it to Allah’s Apostle(SAW). I had a wish of seeing a dream to narrate it to Allah’s Apostle (p.b.u.h) I was a grown up boy and used to sleep in the Mosque in the life-time of the Prophet. I saw in the dream that two angels caught hold of me and took me to the Fire which was built all round like a built well and had two poles in it and the people in it were known to me. I started saying, “I seek refuge with Allah from the Fire.” Then I met another angel who told me not to be afraid. I narrated the dream to Hafsa who told it to Allah’s Apostle(SAW). The Prophet(SAW) said, “Abdullah is a good man. I wish he prayed Tahajjud.” After that ‘Abdullah (i.e. Salim’s father) used to sleep but a little at night.  [Bukhari]

Narrated ‘Aisha: Allah’s Apostle(SAW) used to offer eleven Rakat and that was his prayer. He used to prolong the prostration to such an extent that one could recite fifty verses (of the Quran) before he would lift his head. He used to pray two Rakat (Sunna) before the Fajr prayer and then used to lie down on his right side till the call-maker came and informed him about the prayer.  [Bukhari]

As you can see there are an enormous amount of blessings and the great importance to this prayer. Insha’Allah we all turn back to Allah(SWT) and ask for forgiveness, guidance, protection, and Junnah-al-Firdaus.

Benefits of Surah Hashr

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I want to write about the benefits of reciting and knowing Surah Hashr.

So here is a hadith on the benefits of Surah Hashr:

The Prophet(SAW) said, ‘Whoever when he wakes in the morning says ‘I seek refuge with Allah against the accursed satan’ and then recited three verses from the last part of Surah al Hashr, will be assigned seventy thousand angels to pray for him until the evening, and should he die that day, he would have died a martyr’ [Ibn Ahmad, Darimi, Tirmidhi 5/182]

I would like to share with you an ayat(verse) in the Quran that talks about how a person who moves up in altitude his/her chest contracts, in which modern science has proven after the revelation

In the Quran it states, “So whoever Allah wants to guide – He expands his breast to [contain] Islam; and whoever He wants to misguide – He makes his breast tight and constricted as though he were climbing into the sky. Thus does Allah place defilement upon those who do not believe.” (Surah An’am 6:125).

Mammalian animals, such as human beings, need oxygen to live. Science has also shown how atmospheric pressure dictates the amount of oxygen human beings can intake. As human beings ascend up a mountain, or go up in altitude, the atmospheric pressure declines as well as the amount of oxygen that gets entered into your system due to the thinning of air. As the oxygen content declines we have trouble breathing because our chests contract against our lungs. This is why people who climb mountains will sometimes bring oxygen tanks to help them breathe. There is a link below that explains the science in more detail.

Now, back to the Quran, how can someone who got revelation 1400 years ago know about this scientific concept that was only discovered afterwards? It is not mere coincidence if scientific concepts of the Quran keep occurring that was not possible 1400 years ago. The Quran is the true incorruptible word of God.

Inshal’Allah we all turn back to Allah(SWT) and ask for guidance, protection, forgiveness, and to enter us in Jannah-al-Firdaus.

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I would like to share with you two verses of the Quran that talk about the weight of clouds. Astonishingly clouds can carry up to a lot of weight as proven by modern day science and exemplified in the Quran 1400 years ago.

The Quran states:

“And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy until, when they have carried heavy rainclouds . . .” (Surah A’raf, 7:57)

“It is He who shows you lightening, [causing] fear and aspiration, and generates the heavy clouds.” (Surah Ra’d, 13:12)

The key words that should be noted in these two ayats is that Allah(SWT) mentions clouds as being heavy. 1400 years ago and even till today people may look upon clouds and it may seem like there are extremely light due to it floating in such high altitudes. However, when you calculate the weight of water inside these clouds it is very interesting that they weigh a lot. As an example, a cumulus cloud can contain up to 300, 000 tons of water which is roughly 300000000 kg or 661386786.555 pounds of water. Suban’Allah the beauty of the Quran. If you do not believe me just look it up yourself and be astonished.

Insha’Allah we all ask Allah(SWT) to forgive us, guide us, protect us, and enter us in Junnah-al-Firdaus.

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I would like to share with you one of the great character traits that the Prophet(SAW) had: Gentleness.

Right now we live in a time where the concept of Islamaphobia and the wrong idea of Islam is spreading like wildfire. It is up to us as Muslims to really start implementing the characteristics and moral principles instructed to us by Allah(SWT) and the Prophet(SAW). Our actions will speak louder than words, and what better actions are the ones none other than the Prophet(SAW).

The gentleness of the Prophet(SAW) just radiated from him. He was always cheerful and gentle and never wanted to cause harm.

The Prophet(SAW) smiled so often and even described it as a charity, and psychologists now a days even tell us that a smile has so many powerful an positive psychological effects. (Look it up yourself. It is truly amazing)

Here are some hadiths talking about the gentleness of the Prophet(SAW):

Abdullaah Ibn Haarith said, ‘I never came across a person who smiled as much as the Prophet(SAW). The Prophet(SAW)  regarded smiling with a brother as an act of charity. (Tirmidhi)

Aisha stated that, ‘The Prophet(SAW) never used foul language and never entertained people with obscene jokes. He was well behaved when he entered the market places. His habit was not to repel evil with mutual evil. He was forgiving and could grant pardon.'(Tirmidhi)

Husain  the grandson of the Prophet(SAW) asked his father, Ali , about the Prophet’s conduct. Ali replied, ‘He was always cheerful, gentle and mild. There was no rigidity or coarseness in his conduct. He was neither a faultfinder nor a boisterous person and he steered away from any kind of futile engagement.’ (Tabarani)

Prophet Muhammad(SAW) smiled so spontaneously that each one of the Companions, as they gathered around him during their visits to his house, thought to be the favorite Companion. Jareer Ibn Abdullah said, ‘I have not seen the Prophet, since I embraced Islam, without a smile on his face. I saw him smiling when he could not see me and he was smiling in my presence.’ (Bukahri)

Insha’Allah we all can incorporate this small thing in our lives and really show the world what Islam truly is. Insha’Allah we ask Allah(SWT) for peace, forgiveness, guidance, protection, and Junnah-al-Firdaus.

Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

Let me start by saying that I do not want to start by fighting or debating people. I would like people to open up their eyes, heart, and mind  and really question their faith. By questioning your faith, and if you truly want to find truth and be guided, you will be able to see that the Bible cannot be the true words of God due to the fact that it destroys the moral character of the prophets through its consistent fabrications, insertions, and mistranslations.

Prophets are meant to be people of the highest character and thus be role models for humanity. However, the Bible has portrayed the character of the Prophet David(Dawood(as)) as a man of deplorable character. Now let me ask you the simple question. How can you have a role model who does not have good morality? It is simply ridiculous.

So, this is one of the portrayal’s of Prophet David(Dawood(as)) in the Bible:

2 Samuel 11

New International Version (NIV)

David and Bathsheba

11 In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king’s men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.

One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, “She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her. (Now she was purifying herself from her monthly uncleanness.) Then she went back home. The woman conceived and sent word to David, saying, “I am pregnant.”

So David sent this word to Joab: “Send me Uriah the Hittite.” And Joab sent him to David. When Uriah came to him, David asked him how Joab was, how the soldiers were and how the war was going. Then David said to Uriah, “Go down to your house and wash your feet.” So Uriah left the palace, and a gift from the king was sent after him. But Uriah slept at the entrance to the palace with all his master’s servants and did not go down to his house.

10 David was told, “Uriah did not go home.” So he asked Uriah, “Haven’t you just come from a military campaign? Why didn’t you go home?”

11 Uriah said to David, “The ark and Israel and Judah are staying in tents,[a] and my commander Joab and my lord’s men are camped in the open country. How could I go to my house to eat and drink and make love to my wife? As surely as you live, I will not do such a thing!”

12 Then David said to him, “Stay here one more day, and tomorrow I will send you back.” So Uriah remained in Jerusalem that day and the next. 13 At David’s invitation, he ate and drank with him, and David made him drunk. But in the evening Uriah went out to sleep on his mat among his master’s servants; he did not go home.

14 In the morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it with Uriah. 15 In it he wrote, “Put Uriah out in front where the fighting is fiercest. Then withdraw from him so he will be struck down and die.”

16 So while Joab had the city under siege, he put Uriah at a place where he knew the strongest defenders were. 17 When the men of the city came out and fought against Joab, some of the men in David’s army fell; moreover, Uriah the Hittite died.

18 Joab sent David a full account of the battle. 19 He instructed the messenger: “When you have finished giving the king this account of the battle, 20 the king’s anger may flare up, and he may ask you, ‘Why did you get so close to the city to fight? Didn’t you know they would shoot arrows from the wall? 21 Who killed Abimelek son of Jerub-Besheth[b]? Didn’t a woman drop an upper millstone on him from the wall, so that he died in Thebez? Why did you get so close to the wall?’ If he asks you this, then say to him, ‘Moreover, your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead.’”

22 The messenger set out, and when he arrived he told David everything Joab had sent him to say.23 The messenger said to David, “The men overpowered us and came out against us in the open, but we drove them back to the entrance of the city gate. 24 Then the archers shot arrows at your servants from the wall, and some of the king’s men died. Moreover, your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead.”

25 David told the messenger, “Say this to Joab: ‘Don’t let this upset you; the sword devours one as well as another. Press the attack against the city and destroy it.’ Say this to encourage Joab.”

26 When Uriah’s wife heard that her husband was dead, she mourned for him. 27 After the time of mourning was over, David had her brought to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing David had done displeased the Lord.

Unless you agree with a Prophet that cannot control his desires, ends up knocking up the general’s wife, and then becomes a traitor and tells the army to leave the general’s side and let him be killed so his wife can be with the Prophet then something is wrong with you.

Obviously this is a fabrication, yet it holds strong in the bible. Which comes back to the concept of how the Bible cannot be the word of god?

In Islam you will never find one verse in our scriptures that deplore the moral character of the Prophets because we hold these Prophets to the highest standards for morality and character. We preserve their sanctity and their beauty in their message.

Insha’Allah we all turn to Allah(SWT) and ask him to open our hearts, eyes, and minds to come back to him and ask for guidance, protection, forgiveness, and Junnah-al-Firdaus.
